Knocking up a plate .
« on: 11 May 2012, 12:06:50 »

Decided to make up a plate to cover the coil pack . Aluminium sheet and a bit of hammer forming .

The sheet is formed to sit just snuggly to the bulkhead with a small gap , and fixed to the bolt of the cable tray to stop it vibrating loose .

And some black gooo under the bolt , tray slopes towards the back .

Seems the water is getting through to the foam so im going to remove that and investigate where its coming from , i already sealed the scuttle last month  >:( this plate will take any excess water away for now ... i dont want to be replacing another coil pack just yet . Not every ones cup of tea i know but im happy with it and it dont look too out of place .

My only thoughts with that is airflow around the back of the block, already gets quite warm back there  :-\

;) well its only a trial for the mo , i was going to spray it later on . I didnt want to use shed felt due to any heat issues and it melting . Ill take the car for a good run and see if the plate gets too hot ...easily removed  :)

Its not a bad effort with using tin snips and hammering the edges round a halfpipe   ;D :y
