aftermarket head unit no memory
« on: 17 May 2012, 22:19:30 »

hi guys i have a 97 omega elite auto (no idea if its pre or post facelift) when i got it it was fitted with the bose head unit and a 6 disc multichanger that i have subsequently found doesnt work ,so i decided to fit my alpine unit which also has ipod connection and after purchasing the iso and steering remote adaptors and following instructions during fitting everytime i remove the ignition key the stereo forgets all settings and radio stations.i must admit however the multichanger in the boot was left in place so my questions are ...would having the multichanger plugged in (power only) have any effect on the alpines memory ? and if not does anyone know of a way to reslove this with out spending any more money? and also how do i feed the ipod lead into the glove box?
please help :)

Swap the 12v and ign connections over.

You need to remove the Bose amp and all the Bose speakers, if you haven't already

itrip is quite poor, and actually shite on a gayPhone (not so bad on a gayPod).  Better FM Modulators out there :)
