beware man on bike
« on: 06 April 2008, 01:35:14 »

just have to let of a bit of steam about the pedal bike brigade.  [smiley=angry.gif] i am absolutley pissed at the number of times i stop at a red light or, a give way sign only to have a push bike bandit come sailing past and straight through the red light id like to throw a stinger down for every one i see do this. may be they are all colour blind or, think red signals dont apply to them. today while waiting at a red light as you do, along came a guy on a bike lycra shorts and all who, seeing the red light upped on the pavement and when on the other side of the road proceeded to rejoin the road [smiley=angry.gif] [smiley=angry.gif] [smiley=angry.gif] when is some one goin to do somthin about these idiots. on passing the junction i pulled up near the guy and asked him if he thought a red light applied to him at which point he told me in no uncertain terms to "feek of"  :o good job i didnt have the wife wif me, shed have flattened him. my point is we keep hearing about how the poor bike rider is bullied by us motorist on our roads i think its about time some one took these idiots to task and i wonder if some form of registration would work, other that that the way i see it we may as well make push bike riders exempt from red lights.....

Tis one big p*ss take, at the end of the day if they use the roads they should obey the rules and laws of the roads and highways.

Lets face it they pay nothing to wards the upkeep of the roads and yet they get thier own special cycle lanes.

So yes I agree there should be some form of licening.

I remember when I was a kid there ws the cyccling proficiency test but event that has fallen by the way side.

Rant over..... lol

Maybe not

Then there's horses.

Metal hooves V rubber tyres

Polution V deposits left by horse emissions

Bicycles and horse riders all get the freedom to use the roads but dont have/need traing or insurance to be on them.

Or am I wrong??

I have threatened cyclists more than once when they go through on a pedestrian crossing while I am on it.

I need to get  astick to poke through the spokes.

One cyclist in the south has found out what happens when you run a red light, the car driver was jailed for texting.

I have seen morons nearly killed by no lights at night, nearly decorating the front of an XJS I was following.

not to mention the fact that they often ride 2 or 3 abreast stopping motorists passing. i believe theres a page in the high way code that states cyclists should ride in single file. (could be wrong tho)

Would say that Horse Riders have more idea about the rules of the road than the average cyclist. Most riders also wear high visibilty vests when using the road and personaly i've always got off the road as soon as a decent bit of verge is available to allow the cars to pass easier. Most horses are insured as well.

I think you also might find that horse plop is biodegradeable!!!!  ;D

Your half right..

Rule 66 states
never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends
