Clearing...........a grrrrreat feeling
« on: 28 May 2012, 11:48:40 »

I now, and have had for some time, a completely empty attic (except 2 boxes of xmas decs), a completely empty cellar, (well, the boiler is there, but I felt that should stay ;)) and only what I actually want, need and use in my garage. Wow, this really does give a great feeling.
The old adage for keeping old crap lying around "oh, I'll keep that, it'll come in handy one day" just ain't worth it. After throwing away, giving away or selling all the stuff I was previously keeping, I think only once did I have the need to say "oh I had one of those, but got rid of it". And so what eh? No big hassle.

It's been quite a long process, on and off over months, even years, but I can now say I know exactly what I have and know where everything is.

If you're a hoarder, you need to try it. Not only does it declutter the house, it kinda declutters the mind too. Guess there's a few who could do with that  ;)

No thanks, I will continue hoarding but I do have the luxury of the space!

We moved here 8 years ago and still have boxes of stuff we have never opened. mmm thinking about it a little clear up might be a good idea :y

The space is the problem, as I found out. I too have a lot of space, but that does mean there is more space to fill with junk. Closed boxes for 8 years !! Maybe a clear out would be an idea. This is the problem I had. There were boxes that hadn't been looked in for 10 years. It was kinda obvious to me I didn't need what was inside.

Bet you don't clear    ;)

it might be needed some day ;)

Having just been out in the garden, that's definitely one area of my property that needs a declutter! And possibly napalming and levelling.. it's like the serengeti and the BBQ has disappeared into the weeds..

I agree, and I did start a couple of months ago. PCs, laptops, printers and spares all sent to raise the land (landfill) ready for global warming.

Need to finish off my room, then make a concerted effort on the garage.
