My dad also had a Moris Marina in the early 80's  ;)

Just before I got married in the early 80,s my G/F .( now wife ) had a M reg Marina in the most alarming Orange . ;D

Spent most of the Summer of 1981 keeping the bloody thing working.Biggest laugh was one day on her way home from work she had to brake hard to avoid a tractor or something on a narrow country lane and when she went to pull off again the back fixings for the drivers seat went straight through the floor and she ended up having to drive home almost looking at the roof, propped up on the front edge of the seat to be able to see out of the windscreen. O happy memories  :)

Total heap of crap

That V6 looks tiny in there. They dont make them like they used to  ::)

I thought that too.. space for another two cylinders, at least, I'm sure! ;)

First car I owned was a Marina. 1.3 Super in white. I should've had a chocolate brown one to hide the rust  ;D
I wrote it off when a rear tyre blow out & chucked me off the road. Shortly after Dad bought a brand new Ital van for the farm. It was used to transport animals & the like  ;D
Served him well for quite a while & I enjoyed driving it, even the time when a Gritter Truck put the screen through  >:( :o
My first blowout was in that Ital. And the 2nd. And 3rd.  The first (any only, fortunately) time my NSF wheel beat me into a corner was in that Ital.  The only time I've had an engine 'fall out' was in a bloody Ital.

rather hate 'em ;D

ain't it a shame. If that was a heathcoat van he could command 3 times that money yet they were no better than the Marina vans. I'd love that. I wonder if he'd do a part X on a Lotus Carlton????  :P :P :P

A great many moons ago I had a Marina as a courtesy car while my Mini was in the body shop. I still shudder when I think of it.

Handling? I wished it had some.... Great handfuls of steering wheel just to get the bloody thing to deviate slightly off line.

Perhaps the phrase "Marina as a courtesy car" is a bit of an oxymoron. Height of insult, more like...
