tow bar wiring
« on: 21 June 2012, 18:19:24 »

i have lost power on the o/s indicater on towbar. when i put a tester on it power is not registering. the power at the back light is ok. 12v test lamp is flashing along with rear indicater. nothing at tow bar though. no wires have been disturbed . there are two smallish boxes which the wires are connected to at the rear of the boot. one looks like its the one that makes the beeping noise when indicating. could my prob be one of those :-\  all other things are ok.  :y

If the "beeper" has failed it "might" be shorting to earth, and the power is taking the path of least resistance. try disconnecting the earth for the "beeper" and see if that enables the indicator to work.

could also be the towbar plug, they are great water traps so wires corrode through
