Ok, a few weeks ago I replaced regulator on my alternator. Now the battery light has been playing strange things a few times: once it stayed lit despite engine being turned off, the other occasion was it left on blinking as EML when reading codes. No light when engine is running and it is measured to charge ok etc, no codes, no apparent faults what so ever, only this battery light coming on when I turn off the engine. And, as usual, only a few times in a month or so... Any ideas?

could be faulty regulator, shorting making the light come on.

I fitted a (pattern) regulator to mine a few weeks back.

Sometimes when I switch the engine off the warning light comes on briefly (less often it flashes on and off a couple of times).

I haven't decided yet whether it is a problem and I cannot remember whether the original (Bosch) regulator used to do it

I'm not the only one then  Pattern regulator on mine as well and I will be living with this issue until I replace the whole alternator some day (some year)
