rear brake noise
« on: 13 April 2008, 17:59:27 »

its been two weeks I suffered noise from rear brakes..(also was weak

somehow)

yesterday in a friend shop I checked the brakes..nearly 3 mm left..

mechanic  friend suggested to make a geometry check for disc surface..

he was right.. the surface need to cut more than half a mm to have

correct shape..Now no noise and brakes are strong as before..

Also I must note that I give up using GM brake pads..

Not sure Cem, but i know from experience Vx's have a weakness on rear brakes. From Mk2 Astras/ cavs to early Omegas they can mess about. :y

I think GM hardened the surfaces of pads to increase service intervals..

And can say similiar for some other brands also.. :(

but I think this will effect brake performance and disk service life..
