It would seem that she was a well respected lady. So sad losing someone close to you but comforting to know that her colleagues are honouring her memory and her good work.  :y
No doubt mixed emotions, proud and sad at the same time.

Yes, a fitting tribute to yet another person taken by this terrible disease.

I suppose the legacy of any individual - on how the contribution they made during their time on this earth as a human being, a wife and mother and in this case a serving police officer will always be a relative element within the hearts and minds eyes of those who choose to examine it.

However, in these circumstances, to be remembered in this way by one's colleagues and by the community one served must ease the pain of premature death and give hope to those who remain that one’s actions can reach out and touch many of those we meet during the course of our everyday lives.

“Fear not that which is now, fear not that which is to come. Life, Death, and Being are as one, it is a circle.

It is no beginning and no end. For that which is the beginning is the end of other. And that which is the end is the beginning of the other.

Surely the lesson of life is the wisdom of death. Those that live in the knowledge of what the circle truly is, have peace beyond measure.”

Thank you all who read this and replied. Especially to DD and YZ. I know it is very difficult to reply to such things but thank you all anyway.
Her funeral service was held in Gloucester Cathedral last April in which nearly 1000 persons attended. Mostly police and RAF and family of course. The reason why so many RAF personnel were present was because Lynn ran the bar in RAF Innsworth many years ago before becoming a police officer. Her husband who is still a serving officer in the RAF has also been awarded recognition for his contribution in the war in Afghanistan. Her wake was in UN IMJIN (old RAF Innsworth) with a disco of all things. which was her wish. Circa 600 persons attended the officers mess in which 2 chief constables attended. (One serving and one retired). Also of course in attendance were the top brass from the RAF. All in all a very humbling experience.
