Omega V8 - Corvette Engine & Pontiac 6 Speed Gearbox

Today in Total Vauxhall Magazine I spotted this German Opel Omega B which has been fitted with a Corvette V8 & Pontiac 6 Speed Gearbox, Also for some reason if you look at the last picture I'm in it!!

Pic appears to back up some very basic measurements taken from Robs car. Taking into account the headers and plug leads on his ls3. When measuring from the steering box heat shield, accross to the pas side, the engine position would mean moving the abs pump.
Which seems to have been achieved by moving the battery, presumably to the boot BMW style, and re-positioning the Abs pump in the battery tray area.

In fact the pulleys on the ls3 come very close to fouling the battery anyway, and puts the engine way off centre. Although that's difficult to see in the pics.

Not sure why a new subframe would be needed. Maybe the sump is different on what "looks" like an ls7...? :-\
