Its a bad thing, the whole site where I work is being shut and we are all redundent....unless we wish to apply for a position in Coventry (there are only half as many positions).

I am just trying to make sure that what ever happens I get some positive from it  :y

Its not out sourcing, its good old basic cost reduction based around reducing R and D spend by laying people off and site consolidation.....

Sounds like a company giving up the future to me, I think I know who you work for but what do you work on?

Fiber optic telecoms transmission systems, SDH, PDH and eternet based....upto 40G line rates with DWDM.....

Selling loads of it at the moment to.

At the end of the day, buisness is buisness and hiring and firing in the Uk is easier than almost every other EU country
