Rise and fall
« on: 28 July 2012, 12:15:38 »

I've been working as rig electrician at a Hungarian drilling company for five years now but six month ago my rig went out to Iraq where some Hun geologist suspect huge amount of gas. Unfortunately (?) I didn't become a member of the final team so I've been there just for the time of rig up, after which I came home. Must admit I was hurt by the situation as the main point of selection was not the expertising of rig but the "in-law relationship". As I don't have any relative at my firm I won my job by a hard English language interview and my (real or imagined  :D) knowledge came handy in Iraq a lot of times not just for me but my bosses as well. Okay, came home and took the compulsory rest. Some days after my arriving I got a call from the HR manager who offered me an administrator place and more than 50% salary rise  :y untill the company buy a new rig where I'll work as usual - electric man. So actually I can work in the country for almost the same money as if I worked in abroad...The big wheel turned one and so much I felt depressed as I'm feeling well now haha... :D :D :D Have you ever felt something like this ?

This is a fine example of the cyclic nature of things Laz.  Congratulations on your new position. :y
