What idiots though - video yourself doing it, put it on youtube and hang around watching it burn. Shows how much respect for the law there is these days. I hope that's enough evidence to get themselves nicked.

They are daft hanging around to watch it but not gonna lose any sleep over a camera being burnt. I also think there would be a lot more respect for the law if the law didnt seem to concentrate so hard on us motorist's.

Not just motorists, but speeding motorists to the exclusion of everything else.

When was the last time you saw an idiot on a handheld mobile get pulled over?

Either way, being frustrated is one thing, comitting criminal damage is another. Cameras may be a pain but they do make a point. They aren't (currently) that difficult to spot (until they start ramming them up a horse's @rse and putting it in a horse box by the side of the road).

On the other hand aswell there are quite a lot that are not that easy to spot and say for instance family man drives a car for a living without it cant support his wife and kids, goes through a camera early hours of the morning flash flash cam gets him, he has 9 points already for minor speeding offences he gets out and burns the camera down would you call the police on him? cause i certanly wouldnt.

Speed cameras just dont work its a fact it is just a money making scheme which can lose people there jobs and lively hoods. Yes i know if you didnt break the speed limit in the 1st place you wouldnt have a problem but we all know we dont all stick to the limit 24/7.

Also put them in the correct places, i have said this before i have a lot of schools by me and not one single camera by any of them yet on open roads where there are no houses or pedestrians they put them up because they know it is very easy to speed there, they even have one on a dual carraige way by me on a down hill joining the motorway its a joke.

True enough. They are placed to make money not to save lives sadly. Don't know why there isn't one outside every school.

You have just summed it up in one sentence why everyone hates these speed cameras.

I'm so pleased someone else has a point of view like mine. How many cameras have caught drink drivers, drugged drivers & criminals. Wasn't it a police officer that caught Peter Suttcliff (Jack the Ripper) on a randam traffic stop, certainly wasn't a speed camera.
I personally hate the damn things, because they don't seem to put them any where of any use. There's a few schools i can think of that have cameras near by, but NOT outside the school were they should be.
Camera Saftey Partenership, my arse. Money making scam more like.
I'll probably upset a few by saying they should burn them all, but that's my oppinion.
It's time they realized that it's high police presence that slow people down, a camera only slows you down for few seconds as you pass it.
But cameras are cheap & money makers & the police aren't i suppose cost affective enough.

Criminal Damage, although funny in this case isn't right. As posted a while back, one easy answer, more average speed cameras where they're needed if the authorities want to PROVE they care more about safety than revenue.
Regarding those who've posted disapproval, we post how quick or how much fun our Migs/other playful cars & bikes are. So to those & your respective machines, have you always kept to the limit? None of the usual "i considered the road/weather conditions to be safe" have you or not? Yes or no, no if's or but's. I'll hold my hands up & say no. We all get carried away.
Let he who is without sin etc. :-/
