I fear it is all to little to late. This has been on the agenda for many years. The vehicle manufacturers will want it so theycan control the spare part supply lines and can control vehicle "end of life"  The "end of life" will be the next thing to come in that will seriously do harm to the car market. At first manufacturers will love it. Then they will see the error of it when there is no second hand market and car sales plummet.

Like the galileo sat nav/gps thing they are forcing through for road pricing etc. it will come, it is just a matter of time.

All more government or eu control over joe average.
