I'd go with that, like Norton its a waste of space, hogs resources and is just generally shite!

Because i am a bit thick when it come to computers. After they installed avg i did not realize,i would have to log in to everything. This forum, bank, council, and to add insult to injury,my browser history has gone.Bt say the history may return when they reinstall net protect, but i think its bullshit.Don't mcafee check if an update is going to work before they release it.I am not a happy person at the moment, will have to get some beer to chill me out :)

Not my experience, having just paid for a renewal license for some £40 or so a few years ago, I had a problem, only to discover that ....' this version is no longer supported'! Got nowhere with them at all, they were happy to take my money, but not to offer any service. So I always use one of the free ones now, Avast at present which is fine. I also agree that it hogs resources, as it has far more stuff going on than you need. :y

McAfee, like all AV companies, sometimes release a duff update. They seem to release more duff updates than many though.

You can bet McAfee are working their socks off to try to resolve it, though.

Personally, I won't use McAfee or Norton now, both are slow, resource hogging, and troublesome. AVG is going the same way, and the free version of Avast! doesn't like my setup, constantly nagging me that I need to buy it. Thus, I tend to use MS Security Essentials at the moment, backed up with a Malwarebytes antimalware scan once a week.
