The individual price for 5 litres is now showing at £15.98.

Last night I ordered four cans at £10.45 each including the V.A.T............and FREE DELIVERY. :y

Paid £41.80 in total. :y :y

I have email confirmation on price and quantity. :y.......I think they f**ked up with the price. :y

I would definitely expect this to be 'old stock' that has been offloaded by dealers...

Er sort of. I suspect that a Dealer has ordered a few pallets to meet his purchase targets, he then takes all the rebate and sells the pallets on to a factor outside of there selling area at a reduced price.

If anyone wants to buy a pallet which is something like 148 cases, collect only then let me know

Probably past its use by date. Yes even oil has one :y

Not sure why, but hey :-\ :-\ Personally I can't see oil going off. Can you ???

If it does go off, maybe someone could educate me/us :y

The oil I bought from my local Vx dealer (about 3 months ago)  is dated 23/2/2012

The oil that arrived today is dated 3/9/2012

Not sure if that's a production date. It doesn't say it's a use by date. :y

If oil doesn't deteriorate catastrophically in an environment where it's heated to up to 130 degrees C, forced through tiny clearances under extreme pressures, whipped up by rotating parts and subjected to hot gases containing combustion products I'd be pretty surprised if it degraded at all sitting on a shelf in a motor factors, to be honest. ;)

Couldn't agree more ^^^^  :y

The date is a filling date (date oil put into the container) and is a means of tracing faults (usually related to fill levels, decoration faults, container faults etc) related to the fillng process.  Traceability also from this to batch of oil filled.
