It's a big powerful machine........
Er, well, actually no, not really. It's got the same power my old zx6 f2 had back in...what... 1996? Although all things are relative
It does need attention in places. Mr TB needs to decide its value. Be that either financial, sentimental or giving himself the best chance to stay alive on it by keeping it tip top. There's nothing worse than riding a bike knowing it has faults. (although that's better than not knowing)
Sadly I'm tied up for almost 3 weeks, or we could sort the little blighter out. It's all fixable and normal wear and tear.
125 BHP....I think. The same as my FJ1200 but without the torque.
Still pretty healthy for something that weighs less than 250KG....(Without TB sitting on it, obviously
)
wasn't that the full power version though? Was it Europe or the uk that got restricted carb tops? Or was that the zzr1100?
I bet a portion of those horse powers have leeked out by now though. Plus, as you say, add in Mr Pasty himself...
Its got the flat carb tops, so claimed to be 125bhp (137bhp with unrestricted tops and jets). Performance wise, its enough to scare me shitless. I rarely ride into 3 figures - aside from it being old, and me wanting to live, opportunities to ride at very high speed are few and far between, and worse now that many people never had bikes, and lack that extra awareness.
It is, however, really heavy, compared to newer bikes.
I keep it because its easy to ride, nice long wheelbase to keep the wheels on the ground, and is dirt cheap to run - 50mpg if a good boy (yeah, right), £55 to insure this year.
However, its value is £0. It has smashed fairing where I ate some tarmac, it leaks oil from gear shaft, and has a high rpm reluctance to hit 2nd... ...all fixable (fairing aside, mine has an odd colour scheme), but, due to value, in my mind, its only worth rectifying serious faults.
It also suffers from being underused, and worse, being put away dirty

I do feel, when it goes, I'm probably unlikely to replace it, as a replacement 900-1100cc bike would be more money than the use I would get from it, as I rarely use for commuting during non-holiday periods due to either having to use the straight roads, or follow 'tards scared to go above 35mph
