I thought the consensus was G's on inlet, A's on exhaust, as it comes out of the factory

I put the stock 3.0 cams in correct order in my old 2.5 and it did wake the old girl up a bit, wouldn't have thought putting exhaust cams to inlet would make much difference to a 3.0 though ???

I'm not expecting a big difference, but all helps if this is a gain.
I cannot afford changing the lift on the cams, so i'm looking for a cheap solution for some extra hp

It should help it breath a little easier if you drop them in then change the exhaust manifolds for the 2.6 / 3.2 ones as they are known to flow better.
Would be interesting if you could get a before and after dyno reading  ;)

Fitting the inlet cams on the exhaust side wont make any great gain.

Increasing lift wont have a big impact either as that only inceases the curtain area and the standard lft already matches port size.

Its playing with duration and ramp rate which might give gains,

I suspect you were reading the wrong code as there is also one for the stock (un ground) cams which is the same on all of them
