My front door key used to start my Crapi easyily enough. ......I hoped someone would nick it,but no-one ever did.

Bet you wished you still had it , worth a packet now 

I had a five minute lapse and couldnt get the key out either a while back thinking how am i going to lock the car while getting my dohnuts from the shops over the road

Drove a 7.5t Eurocargo at TNT which could be started with ANYTHING vaguely key shaped, ie flat and narrow, because the barrel was shot, could lock the doors ok though ......

My MKIII Cortina was like that 

I used to unlock my old work mates Cortina with my SD1 keys. The look on his face when he found out why his car was always unlocked at finish time He didn't like it much when his key wouldn't unlock my Rover

I got back to my Cortina to find I'd locked them inside the car, in the ignition. Looking around the car park I saw a woman in another Ford waiting for someone, so I asked her if I could borrow her keys ......
The look on her face was priceless as I easily unlocked my car with her keys!

front door key and the ignition key are the same on the crapi are'nt they

Shouldnt have been the same as the front door key to my house though.

Yep, my ex-wife had the same panic, just after I got the Omega. 

My Kawasaki where the ignition barrel is worn allows you to remove the key while the engine is running.

My old Z650 had that option , it was great if you forgot to lock the front door
