England Match Report
« on: 18 October 2012, 09:08:25 »

On radio Four's Today programme this morning they reported on the abysmal performance, as per usual and the reporter made no excuses for the pitch. However the presenter asked the reporter if he thought the delay had an affect? I found his response surprising to say the least, he said "Well alot of the players take Pro-Plus before a game, and then couldn't sleep that night so they were not fully prepared for the rescheduled game"  :o :o :o
Pro- Plus tablets are concentrated caffeine a stimulant akin to a mild amphetamine , you would have to drink alot of coffee to get the same effect.
So if the report is accurate the England players are using performance enhancing drugs albeit legal, I am sure their use is therefore widespread across the game.
Is this the thin edge of the wedge or even acceptable?
I personally find it rather disturbing :(

Paddy Kenny got a 9 month ban for taking cough mixture  ::)

Then again, he is a ugly bugger so he should have been baned for life  ;D ;D

Presumably the Poles also took performance enhancing legal drugs so it would still have been a level playing field.

It never ceases to amaze me how many different excuses we(the England manager) come up with the next day for poor performance. It isn't poor pay for sure.

The excuses for England dont wash with me, the Polish Team were in the same boat, if not under more pressure from the previous cock up the day before.

Bottom line Poland played a better game, and probably desired to win in my opinion.

Apparently the use of Caffeine is widespread in all sport with 70% of people involved using tablets or high energy drinks to give them a boost. Up until 2004 the use of Caffeine was allowed up to a limit of 12 micrograms per millilitre of blood, 600 - 800mg ingested, but its use was derestricted in 2004. Apparently it is still monitored but because it stays in the blood stream for 24 - 36 hours then no one could have a cup of coffee, energy drink or chocolate for 2 days before any event.

In my book it is still cheating :( :(

It being performance enhancing, could be disputed looking at Englands performances ;D ;D ;D
