Forum outage/slow response
« on: 26 October 2012, 15:16:58 »

All

Please accept our apologies for the current forum issues, users will be experiencing diffulties in connecting, slow response times and a lack of availability of the maintenance guides. This is unrelated to the earlier planned outage.

The fault has been traced to an issue with the provider of the images server function (and not the main forum), this problem has been logged and should be resolved shortly.

In the mean time, a work around has been put in place but, users may need to clear their caches in order in order to get the best (limited) performance.

Many thanks

Further limited investigation has shown that there maybe a link between the ban on Lazydocker being removed and the forum outage.

In the light of the underwhelming evidence, admin are considering the punishment options.

This reminds me of a story i heard.....

A little bird was flying south for the winter.  It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow sh!t, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:

(1) Not everyone who sh!ts on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh!t is your friend.

(3) And when you're in deep sh!t,
it's best to keep your mouth shut!
