its to stop the v6 overheating when switching off as the temps still rises cos there is no air flowing through it s called thermal something or other someone on here should know the correct term

Maybe someone knows the true reason of the pump/fan noise.
not sure but there is some sort of elec water pump on the v6 vec may be the same on the v6 mig

could be secondary air injection pump. nothing to worry about just pump designed to get airflow to cats and bring them up to temperature quicker. you can unplug it if you dont want the noise. it won't do any damage to your motor, but does sound like a jet engine for a few seconds hehehe

that said, this noise will only occur on startup, not switchoff

its the same as a vectra will last longer the colder the cats are
