I tried that with one of ours at 3am a couple of years ago.Didnt realise it was actually wired into the mains.I touched 240v and blew my thumbnail off. It didnt have hurt.Woke me up though.
I do wish you hadnt mentioned lunch.I havent had mine yet.

I'll have you know I live in a rather 'genteel' section of Seaton Canoe! 
My home is so desirable no-one can afford it...........well, no one's bought it yet.....but that's another lie story!
As for a late lunch, us 'special folk' with no stomach have to eat little and often, every 2 hours or so in my case, so the smoke alarm batteries have been changed for rechargeables to save money!!!!
