Vauxhall Christmas puddings ...............
« on: 24 December 2012, 19:07:30 »

SWMBO has just reminded me of something we had at Xmas for a few years - (between 1981 and 1989 IIRC) - the Vauxhall Christmas pudding.  :y

During that time I worked in and around the Luton plant and ate regularly at the staff canteen. Good quality basic fare at a decent price, They also had a bar for lunchtime use - I only used it once, in 1985 IIRC. hic ....

From early December the puddings went on sale, two sizes - the Viva and Victor.

They were excellent quality and reasonably priced & I ended up buying loads of them for friends and family.

Times move on and the once massive canteen got downsized with the plant being changed and then downsized/closed  :-[

Hey ho ........

I'm not surprised with names like that for the puddings, They probably rotted away in no time!. :y
