Have you sorted that exhaust manifold out yet?

Ermmm no  ::) Still ticks like a gudun when cold......

Tho i have spoke to my local garage about it.....they have a plan so the head doesnt need to come off.....but are lacking one of the bits needed.....a right angled drill.

Their idea was drill a pilot hole in the snapped studs......then use left handed tap set (which they have) then the snapped studs should undo when they tap a thread.  :-/

I know, but worth a go i reckon......seeing as when i took the manifold off a while ago to take a look....about half the studs unscrewed with the nuts still attached.....so they seem to come out fairly easy.

Just need to source/borrow a right angled drill......looked on fleabay a while ago.....proper right angled drills (not adaptors) are blooming expensive even 2nd hand. Not sure if an adaptor would be too bulky or not  :-/

Thanks for the kind offer......but i think the airgun drill will be a lot smaller (bulky) than my cordless drill and an adaptor.

Also a lot less weight i would imagine.......my cordless drill is fairly heavy.

I'm not completely up to date with this problem but... Has the stud snapped off in the head or is there a shank there still? Just asking because I have a set of stud extracting sockets which you are welcome to borrow. They have to be turned by hand (i.e. Not with an air ratchet) but i've successfully removed studs previously.

There are two that have snapped.....ive taken the manifold off in the past to take a look....they have snapped inside the head.......so extractors wont work....... :(

Thanks for the kind offer tho  :y
