98 MV6 to a 99 Elite

Hi all. It has been a while since my last post,(about 18 months).

The reason being was my head gasket on my MV6 started to go in Oct 11, so decided to take her of the road before it caused any more damage,(i.e. warped heads).

Due to a lack of funds at the time, she sat on the drive looking very unloved. In april 2012, I has managed to get all the parts that I thought I needed. I then ended up of work for four months with a bad back.

Once fit, I started to disassemble the engine. I got as far as removing the drivers side head, when the weather decided to rain continuosly. I thought I had covered the engine to stop any water, but when I went back the cylinders were full of water.

After draining out the water and cleaning them up, I asked a friend who is a mechanic for his advice on weather I had killed the bottom end of the engine. He had a look and said that they were to badly pitted to attempt to put her back together. :-(

Whilst looking around for a replacement 3.0 lump I have now bought a 99 3.0 Elite with a years mot and a little bit of tax.

Which leaves me wondering what to do with my MV6.

Given its in bits, sell the bits you can, then weigh it in.

Also, what were the main differences between the 2 models?

Also, what were the main differences between the 2 models?

stiffer suspension and less toys than the Elite

Assuming they are both saloons or estates and both mini facelift/ facelift, I would swap the MV6 suspension on to the Elite :y
