Sky 2TB Box
« on: 18 October 2013, 11:51:10 »

Am hacked off.

Spoke to a Sky advisor online about a month ago and he said I could have a brand new  2TB for £49 with free  setup.

Now just been online and cant find a link for the online advisor, so phoned them to et to an agent on a poor line who had the giggles (Not impressed) only to be told the offer was for me if I took on Sky Multi room and to read the terms and conditions when I protested. So went back to web page and found the following

Buy a Sky±HD 2TB box

*The Sky+HD 2TB box is £49 for existing Sky TV customers taking their first Sky+HD subscription (set-up costs may apply).

For more information and latest offers, choose an option below:

So much for my loyalty to Sky for the last 17 years.

Not impressed

Ive just cancelled both multi-rooms and HD. Still wasn't happy so half price line rental and discvount on tv package for 9 months. £55 a month instead of £102 and both boxes upstairs act as freesat boxes

Ring up & be prepared to cancel. Reason for leaving? You box is failing and you want a nice new 2TB one or bye bye. :)

I've been a sky customer for the past 15. Years, we currently pay £99 a month, that's the full package, multiroom, phone Internet etc, haven't got any problems but it really hacks me off that its always new  customers that get the goodies.  >:(
How about showing loyal customers a bit of gratitude and giving us a wee bonus every now and then?

I would cancel but last month I took on the free HD for 12 months, and have the option to cancel after 12 months or add £5 per month to keep it, but am hoping/guesing the HD charges will get dropped by then/

If I walk now I have to pay £5 a month till next September

Yep...Wherever you go it's the same old shit.

Our 3.1% ISA with Nationwide runs out at the end of October........dropping to a piss poor 1%.

However, new customers are offered 2.5%.

So much for loyalty. >:( >:( >:(

All banks do this...  just go in and ask them to reinstate the bonus (which is how they do it) and they will.  I have to go in once a year to do this.... they now remind me to do it!

Found the Live Advisor chat window.   Just spent the last hour, what a complete waste of time.

Seems I spoke to the same agent as last time, All though I didnt go for the 2TB box then I did get free HD plus extra channels free for 12 months, but if I cancel in that period I have to pay £5 a month which is the monthly charge after 12 months.

Now seems I have to cancel the HD entertainment pack to get the the 2TB box for £49, which I get when I sign up when I get the entertainment plus HD pack.

Off to pull some more hair out. might be a while. :-\

I would say no, it'll be just before the end of your notice period.

Friend of mine cancelled his because he had to due to not having a job any more, they took the cancellation with no offer of discount, then just before the month was up rang him and offered free for few months, so he took it and will be cancelling just before they want paying again.

He like me has been a customer for very nearly 20 years!

Which peed me off when I wanted to change my white sky+ box to replace my broken multi room box and get a new box that would get the on demand/ catch up stuff, that was free to new customers.

Got told it was £249 for the new box! Or if I took out HD package at £10/ month for 12 months it was free. Online tosspot couldnt understand I dont have an HD telly, wasn't going to be getting one in the near future so your 'free' box was actually costing me £120 and the HD channels would actually be just be normal channels that I was already paying for!

Ended up buying a box off Ebay for £30, phoning up and getting the old multi room box card programmed to the new box and hey presto 2 boxes in 2 rooms and i can get all the catchup bits I wanted in the first place and both have the record facility thanks to a replacement 8 way LNB  :)
