Payday UK loans
« on: 01 March 2013, 13:39:36 »

I keep seeing an advert on British TV for these nice folk.

I never quite get the detail but it is something like :

Need a loan,

2610 15%

Is the 2610 when you have to pay it back by?  ;D ;D

Its actually 2510.15% APR   :o

Absolute robbery of course, but there are some companies charging over 4,000%.

In days gone by this used be called "usury" and was illegal. If someone is short of cash, taking out one of these loans is the last thing they should do. Bank of England base rate is 0.5% !

I knew that! ;D ;D The figure is so astronomical at 2610.15% that it looks like it is 15%.

It is a sign of the times. All you need to do is look at the adverts on TV to see where the money(and profit) is. Car insurance is another example. If margins were tight there wouldn't be any cash to flash on expensive TV campaigns.
