Fault codes 2.2 petrol
« on: 31 March 2013, 16:36:25 »

hi All
          got talking to a local owner this morning whose 2.2 petrol is running roughly on start up for 5 or so minutes from cold & has a hesitant occasional  mis fire on tickover when warm . also seems hesitant in the throttle response when warmed up .

Guy has a code reader  (memoscan U581 CAN OBDII ) and it is showing 4 codes :

P 0170       P0302      P0727    P0700

Only 2 are  on Jimbobs list in the maintenace guide is P0170  (Rich or lean exhaust) & P 0700  transmission

Any ideas on this please ?

TIA     Al :y

Not on my list either

Just done a google on the others, and P0302 says cyl 2 misfire, P0727 Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal

These were found on here, but may not apply to the Simtec 71 ECU - http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/

Others should be able to confirm  :y

Currently, I think the codes are adding confusion.

Clear them all out, wait for the symptom, see whats there.

Also oil leaking onto exhaust & burning . . .   so prob needs cam cover gasket & breathers sorting  etc.

Another Mig that seems to have had  zero maintenance done  >:( >:( >:(

Why oh why do I get involved I ask myself  ::) ::) ::) ::)
