AR35 Gear selector
« on: 05 April 2013, 19:55:15 »

I am about to swap my AR25 for an AR35 on the TD with the help of JamesV6CDX, and I noticed that the gear selector module on the near side of the AR35 is different to the one on the AR25. What are the implications of this, if any? And do we just connect the car linkage straight to the AR35 selector module, or do we swap them over?

Never noticed any difference either, the only difference i came across was, if i remember correctly, the exhaust bracket of some description and maybe the selector rod length.

( and leftovers of a thrust washer)

So am I missing the shield off the AR25? I've had the car 14 years, and never touched it. :-\ :-\ :-\

As far as I know the item is the same on the V6 and TD so can only assume it's the shield that's different. We'll work it all out tomorrow :y

Selector the same across the range irrespective of whether diesel or petrol & all should have the shield fitted

Sneaking suspicion that the TD doesn't have the heat shield, as the exhaust is the other side.

AFAIK the heat shield came to Omegas only from MY2001 onwards, this was mentioned on TIS on new features for MY2001

When the DBW V6s came in, as the pre cat is desperately close to it.

That said, seem to recall my 1998 MV6 has a heatshield...
