Speed warning alarm
« on: 20 April 2013, 19:15:23 »

So as not to hijack that custard blokey's thread.

Who has got a speed warning alarm??

My passat has.....and having played with it i prefer the merc method of doing things (both my mercs ive had , had it)

In passat you set speed warning you want and at, say, 70 (set by you) it starts making 'bonging' noises if you exceed 70.....bloody annoying imo  >:(

In merc you set speed limit, again, say, 70 .... and thats it....no annoying noises, 70 is the limit you can go.....end of.  :y

I used to use the merc method quite a bit when driving in towns.....set it to 30mph.....and no chance of getting a speeding ticket accidently  :y

I have it on Phaeton but do not use it now as I lack discipline and go at a speed consistent with flow on motorway at the time - significantly different to 70 ::) of course.

I have the 'bonging' one. It doesn't stop you going too fast, it just lets you know that you are.  :-\  ;D ;D
It's set to 150mph so it saves me looking at the speedo  ;D ;D ...........only kidding.  ;)

The Merc's limiters are good. I use mine quite a lot especially through average speed camera areas. :y  Merc fit them in their trucks as well. :)
