My Date with Terraclean
« on: 20 April 2013, 19:03:12 »

Hi Guys,

For those who watch Car Restoration and repair programs on Discovery you might have seen Edd China's adverts for Terraclean i had some Close Friends recommend this 'Revolutionary' Cleaning agent,

Being my DTi has now just clocked 197000 Miles  ::) i thought what the heck ill give it a shot, So i had it booked in for Today through a Trade Friend and thought i would share my input

Yesterday (Friday) i did the Lower Decat on the DTi which was a good thing as it doesent hold any precious metals infact its just very tightly packed Aluminium foil.

(Before you get bored Read on as there is something in it for you)

The car performs so much better its lost a flat spot in low down revs and also lets the turbo spool quicker. So thats good However i still knew theres more to be achieved

So decided to have the Terraclean done

The mechanics at the Terraclean place was intreiged as the'ye 'never come across a Diesel Omega' but then i was introduced to the technician who was working on my car and he has Previous experience working for Vauxhall and Apologised for the IQ of the other technicians  ;D he went straight to the fuel injection feed and return and couldnt have been more efficient, Nice lad who noticed my Omegaowners.com sticker in the rear window, He disappeared for a moment and then reappeared and we starting discussing OOF

So the car run on the Terraclean solution for just under the Hour and the Engine note did change several times and he proved to me that the Carbon Deposits were being removed by a simply removing the exhaust extraction for a moment and showing me the black deposits flying out  :o

NOW...

For all of you that are interested the Technician and his Boss have said anyone who wishes to have the Terraclean service done if we go in a group they will give us a nice % discount  :y I dont work for them so not promoting or anything like that before people start getting upset i am purely a customer of there work who is impressed with results and they gave me this Offer purely as i am Part of this Owners Club

A number of members of one of the Jag forums where I'm a member, swear by and recommend this process, with improvements being noted.

As a matter of interest Sam, where abouts did you go for it?

I'm always somewhat sceptical about things like this, but after having a read around a few places, there seem to be lots and lots of very positive things said about it. And, now having heard from you Sam...it certainly seems worth a go  :y
I'd be interested in putting a few vehicles through, including one of my 3.2's to see how it gets on.

Cheers Josh  :y like i say I was very sceptical like your self but the fuel economy on the dti is incredible now the engine doesn't sound as harsh on cold start in the mornings and it doesn't smoke on start up anymore either so win win in my book and my old mans Common Rail diesel has had even better results than me.

He was having issues with his EGR Valve sticking open so when approaching junctions it would idle way to high after a terra clean its lost all idle issues does not excessively smoke under hard acceleration like it used to and he is achieving 52 - 56 mpg from a 9 year old Renault!  :o

I'd be very sceptical about these sort of products/services but you either love them, or not.

A person claiming to be the Terraclean product manager got caught out back in 2006 by another person claiming to have a Ph.D (who knows on these forum thingys ;)) .  The 'product manager' was posting two pics of what he claimed to be the same spark plug, before and after, see post 44 then 57 onwards here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/68535-solution-carbon-build-up-terraclean-5.html He went very quiet when they were clearly established as different plugs.
