mpg in a 2.6 ?
« on: 02 May 2013, 21:10:26 »

I managed 26 mpg coming home from work in the new 2.6, my 3.0 never managed more than 17 mpg on the same route  :o Is this the norm for a 2.6, of so it may be a keeper :-\

At the minute my avg is 29 mpg. I do a fair bit of town driving, short journeys and normally I would have about at least one 50 mile run on good rds a week. I do like to use the loud pedal when I can and on a good A road I normally sit about 70-80, motorways 80-90.

17mpg sounds a little on the low side even for a 3.0. The only time mine has gone to that kind of mpg is when SWMBO has driven it for any kind of time .... she uses the throttle as an ON/OFF switch hence she can reduce the mpg to eyewateringly low consumption. The 26mpg of the 2.6 seems more realistic

2.6/3.2's generally considered to be less effiencent than 2.5/3.0.

Sounds like something was wrong with with your 3.0!

I can easily average 26mpg over tank in my 3.2, mixed 90mph cruise and some town work  :y
