« on: 17 May 2013, 11:20:53 »

Hi all just had a neighbour come round moaning about his omega 2.2 dti faults are oil in the water and fuel guage not working am i right in thinking oil cooler  is kaput  and is it possible to bypass it as  he doesnt want   to splash out on  new  one and apart from  kaput fuel sender anything else worth checking for the non working guage  thanks

Sounds like oil cooler which on these units tells me its been poorly serviced.

Replacement part is around 150 notes.

They cna be bypassed but you need to link both the coolant pipes and the bridge the outlets from the cooler (or oil will piss out everywhere).

As for tank gauge tehre very reliable on the Omega so check the connections to the sender by removing the small round insepction hatch in the boot.
