new car

Just got the new Astra. Its the 2 ltr cdti sports tourer automatic sri and very nice it is too! Certainly shows how things have moved on since the mig. Nice styling (though all new estates these days are similarly styled to avoid the boxy look of the past), good ride and plenty of both cabin space and load space. The sports seats are good too. Plenty of power (roughly the same as my 2.5 migggy) , though the turbo lag does mean its a lot slower off the mark than the petrol v6! On the other hand it'll probably save me about £15 a week in fuel  ;D. Very impressed-though at around 27k new its certainly overpriced and little wonder that most are built to order for lease use. Havent used the "manual" function on the autoibox yet but basic "drive" select is fine. Biggest difference is that the brakes on the new Astra are about 200% sharper than the old omega so have to be a bit carefull when Im driving the mig if Ive used the Astra for a few days ;D
