Hi all, Is it me or are the clutches on the omega heavy? Ive been having some issues with getting the car into gear but besides that i had my dads 4x4 which is only2 years young than mine but the clutch is light as feather.

Mine is a bit fussy when cold, but otherwise ok

In the 2.2 I find the clutch fine, maybe I am used to it, but never found it heavy

I know there's a difference between a heavy clutch & not being able to get it in gear  but could it just be a clutch that need bleeding properly to get the full movement of the slave cylinder/release bearing? 

I've only ever driven one manual Omega ....... not the nicest gearbox I've ever come across.

All my six Omegas are manuals. They are all hydraulic, which is good, but they vary. My 3.2  disengages very early in the stroke, suggesting new clutch due soon, while the 2.2 disengages very late, making first gear engagement while stationary difficult-probably needs bleeding - tricky job. As to their being heavy to operate, my womenfolk never complain. The worst clutches I have known were the cable ones, like on Citroens and some Fords, with complicated spring assistance.

my clutch was heavy-sometimes my leg would ache after a lot of inner city driving so got auto and nver going back to manual miggy again-so much nicer IMHO
