Evening guys
                     Ok wot's the best way to undo the front crankshaft pulley bolt on my 1998 25 v6, change the oil last weekend clean down everything fine, misses been using the car and said it smells of oil, took a look and the underneath its covered, ok cleaned down hoping that it was the oil pressure switch seal, gave the car a hard blast down the country road, returned and oil is coming from underneath the crank pulley area, so its got to be the crank seal, but how do I undo that bloody bolt, I  know the cam belt has to come of, that's another story

I made a tool to hold the pulley: simply a sturdy enough piece of steel with holes for pulley middle bolt and smaller ones for attaching it to the pulley. This piece was long enough to reach the frame near PS pump, then just simply take the longest available socket wrench and it shall give up. The bolt is TIGHT.

They say you should replace the used bolt. I did not.  Tightening torque is quote high but do not have the exact figure here.

Yep, you need a tool or bracket of some sort that holds the crank still on the 6 bolts on the pulley (after removing the damper part).

....and failure to use a tool to hold the bottom sprocket will result in the woodruff key shearing off....and hence you will also need a new bottom sprocket.

I usually grind through the bottom pulley bolt. Works every time
