LPG Certification....

Any way of finding out if an install was DIY or approved?

Just remembered the Jeep is LPG - All running fine. And i know i dont have a certificate.

Been so pre occupied with getting its brakes and pipework sorted i forgot why i bought it... ;D

If it looks like it's been done by monkeys, then it's a pro install.

If it looks half decent, probably DIY ;D

As with all car work  ;D

However are vehicles that are "certified" placed on some kind of list or register?

I am at work but just remembered its got a sticker on it from a Garage that is an "approved LPG installer" guess i should give them a ring  :-X :-/

Also i doubt very very much if the previous owners ( of the last 4 years) would have done it - theres loads of invoices suggesting they knew naff all about maintainace.

I mean who pays to have a battery INSTALLED !!!

Runs and changes back and forth to/ from lpg no problems and is as sweet as a nut.

Actually - mini off topic - what aspects of the LPG should i be servicing routinely?

I guess the answer to your original question is that the LPGA are the body who oversee the certification, so they must hold a register of certificates their members have issued, surely? Time to find out if they're as incompetent as their members.

As to servicing, the vapour filter should be changed every year or so and if you're really keen you could strip and clean out the vapouriser.

Yes, they do. The LPGA have the right to contact you and arrange to come and visit to inspect the install, if you are willing to let them of course.
