Ebay exhaust for 3.2v6 estate year 2002

Hi folks

Need a new rear box and 2 middle sections for my miggy. Ebay sellers in Poland are doing these items for under £100 whereas the local National Tyres want about £300 after discounts. National Tyres have said they will fit the ones from Poland for £30 but have warned that I should make sure they are either OE or type approved or the car will fail its next MOT. Anyone had any experience with this?

Type approval only applies to the cats, not to the rest of the exhaust.  Any good exhaust place should know that.

PS I've had a Polish system fitted to my car for 3 or more years and never had any MOT problems.  Also the exhaust is still in excellent condition with virtually no corrosion.  The cats are the originals and still working.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

I had a cheap middle section and back box fitted recently and it seems fine!  The last cheap exhaust I had lasted about 40,000 miles.  :)

Many members here recommend exhausts from Eternal  http://store.eternalcar.com/ which are not much more than the £90 ebay cheapies.

You don't need to spend £300!!  ::)  ;)

Type approval DOES apply on exhausts also, has been so since year 2000 or something and it says something about noise levels etc. There is a EU directive for this, I've seen the docs when I was working for a while with bosal-imports...

I used premium-car, no problems delivered in 3 days from Poland. Terbert and others have used this supplier  :y :y

I found them easier to use than the Eternal website :y

Okay. exhaust from Poland (2 middle sections and rear box) cost me £72 plus £11.50 postage off of ebay (neu car). Arrived 4 days after order by DPD who email you to let you know parcel is coming and the approximate time. Had it fitted a few days ago and the fitter was very impressed. Said it was 'e' stamped whatever that means. So really pleased as all seems fine and I'm about £200 better off!

Most of the stuff is good, I've got Eternal from Poland on the 2.2, centre sections are double walled. Very good for the money  :y

My (genuine) VX exhaust bought at great expense about 2 years ago has rusted through. Gerald Ratner had a word for it.......

Eternalcar web site is no help as usual. Doesn't list anything for a Vauxhall Omega and won't let me search for an Opel.

ETS looks good though :y

Ordered a full system from neu cars today.
128 quid (twin tailpipe) and full fitting kit included in the price  :y
