hot weather damaging my health
« on: 17 July 2013, 09:38:43 »

travelling into London these past few days has been a problem - I do not take any blood pressure tablets but if I see any more cleavage, legs, tight skirts etc I am going to have to resort to medication.

Just arriving into London this morning a young lady popped an iphone into her bra - no matter how long I stared I could not tell the difference between left and right.

I'll be ok in a minute as now sat in full air conditioning.

Also these welded train tracks are now creating safety issues and delays occurring as they deal with buckling or whatever. You have to get away early to avoid this situation ::)

That sounds terrible. I'm going to make a really selfless gesture here, which might help you out. We swap for a day. You come and sit in my male-dominated, windowless, air conditioned office full of equipment and I do your commute. :P

Oh, hang on.. train full of totty versus sunny Westfield commute through the lanes steering with the throttle.. Hmm. Tough call. :-\

I'm so, so so glad I cycle to work now. MrsT wants to visit friends on Thursday evening, she suggested why don't we use the tube?  ::)

Sod that, taking the slightly longer, but air-conditioned route via London Overground.

Cycling does have huge benefits, not only is it cool once you get going, but I cycle through a few parks. You get quite a few people sun bathing  :-X

I dunno Tunnie. I cycled in to London at the weekend and I went through all 3 750ml bottles of fluids plus a can of coke.  Upon arrival at Waterloo I went blind with all the sweat falling into my face.

Plus that and dealing with all the idiots who only ever cycle when it's nice and don't know what the break they are doing >:(

True, although instead of going full tilt with locked into cleats ect, I was cycling in my sandals  ;D

I think I barely hit 9mph  :-[

Also stuck mainly to pavements, normally would not do that, but if I go on the road I like to do a decent pace.

Ah yes I averaged 18mph over 40miles, and I never touch pavements with a barge pole when on two wheels.

I love the fact that cycling burns so many calories, over 5000 Kcal on that ride  :y
