I've got a 4.2 Audi A6 avant. Plenty of performance there !

and it was only £1300, too.

Drove a Phaeton V8 and a W12 as well. Oddly it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. Perhaps cosseting was the term to be used rather than fast or sporty. I was more than a little disappointed. I suspect the 3.0 V6 diesel is the best choice, although I never managed to test drive one.

Shame really as I was thinking of getting one for the wife at some point when her Omega dies. Oh and the latest incarnation, in my eyes, looks worse than the previous version.

yes, mine's identical to that - a 1999 4.2 Avant. 5-speed auto with Bose. Bought for £1300 last June. Used mainly to transport the dogs around in winter.

I did have another until last week - it was also a 1999 car, but a saloon. I sold it at the weekend, for £2K, which was £1500 more than I bought it for. (yes - £500). It was absolutely top-spec, with recaros, the solar panel sunroof and double-glazing.
