How can it be possible to obtain a watertight conviction 28 years after the fact? I do hope that this doesn't turn into another Stephen Lawrence affair, with trials and retrials for years to come.

I appreciate it's not 28yrs & 'only' 12 yrs, but people do get caught years after they thought they were high & dry.

I don't know how they've come to it in this case,but constant innovations in forensics,DNA profiling etc.can lead to the solving of a crime many many years after the actual offence was commited.
