Free WiFi
« on: 05 August 2013, 17:14:37 »

How do I connect my Android tablet to free WiFi, when the login asks me for my phone number (which the tablet hasn't got)?

Doesn't help that the instructions are in French :D

Who's free WiFi? Assuming its a French one?

At a guess you probably have to register, when launching browser to connect to anything it will re-direct you to a registration page of some kind.

Time to brush up on that Frog language  :y

It does, asks me for my email address and mobile phone number.

It then says, mobile number not recognised on this device, not surprising, as the android is not a phone.

Their definition of Free WiFi most likely does not match yours.

Enjoy your hols, and try talking to Mrs AA, rather than be on the internet all day :P

Are you putting a number in? Think if you had a laptop, it would no doubt ask for the same.

Think Mobile French numbers start 06 or 07, could try something dud, but it could well be "Free for 2 hours" but most likely have to register a card to get it  ::)

Sit outside DuckMonalds, they are genuinely free...  ...for as long as you have the session.

Sat next to a Reading bus in traffic, Mrs CG Logged onto its free wifi. ;D

It was seemless. Btw.

I wouldn't give away personal info either, when you can't read the page. :-\
