We got ourselves an 0870 number about four or five years ago ,this gets given to all utility company's and any internet searches this is put in!!!

Fairly easy to get hold of (or was),very few companys  query it and we still have our "normal" number as well.

Is that the one that you earn money from if someone rings you on it?..... :D :D
Most providers of 0870 to consumers use it to pay for the service that they offer for free.

I that I think that is the case with us we have not had a payment from them but it does deter most people ,we get very few cold calls. Ours is actually an 08717 number but definitely works!!

Well , been doing quite a few insurance quotes myself on the comfuzzed DOT com website and happy with how fast the quotes come up and some reasonable prices  :) Now , thing is ive been bombarded with phone calls ever since ive been doing the quotes  :( Just checked my balance on me mobile bill and they have been charging me for the privileged £6 so far  >:( >:( >:( >:( They dont tell you that when doing your own quotes  :( So the filter settings on the site have been duly rearranged and ive reported them to Phonepayplus and got the £6 paid back from the scumbags  :(
If you're charged for incoming calls in the UK, you need a new mobile provider!!!
Trouble is the incoming calls are probably from Delhi or somewhere!! ;D ;D ;D

The source of the calls is irrevelent (though most will be VOIP'd to UK, before fitting the traditional switched or mobile networks), if a UK provider is charging for *any* incoming calls, you need to change provider.

I had a massive row with Vodafone a few years ago when I started to receive lots of marketing texts and was being charged something like 20p for each one.  >:(

When they claimed that they couldn't stop the texts and they had to charge me, I said that I was going to cancel my direct debit and they would have to pursue me through the courts for the rest of the money due through the contract, and I'd report them to trading standards!  >:(

Funny enough I stopped getting the texts!  ::)
