Suspension overhaul help needed.
« on: 22 September 2013, 20:57:10 »

Had to change a few bushes up front for mot so polybushed the front wishbones. Got through the mot no problem but still drives doing the crabbing and tram tracking pulling side to side with changes of road surface.  So have decided to go for a total rebuild of front and rear suspension then 4 wheel alignment.

I want to lower it so suggestions please for good lowering springs or kits.
Also need a list of all bushes, drop ljnks etc plus part numbers.

I know there will be quite a sizeable bill flr all this but to be honest I just want it to handle as it should so im going to renew everything.

Thanks in advance

All the info required is on here somewhere.

But I would stress, lowering beyond 20mm on the rear is not advisable as the camber and toe setting will not be achievable, resulting in excess tyre wear. 30mm on the front is probably the limit with ground clearance.

So, as most lowering kits give 30mm drop, they will put the set up out of spec.

Just so your aware. :)

Drop links and the roll bar related parts do NOT affect the geometric set up. So just "fit and forget" there.

Ah ha. Good stuff.  Id fought off the urge to lower for over a year now. Had a v6 calibra that.i had rebuilt all consumables on suspension. Roads are that bad here that after 10k miles all is buggered again except shocks and springs.

Right, so what is a good shock and spring combo?
