I don't mean the  power washer ones iam talking about  the household ones and if so what should you look for when buying?
my mrs keeps going on about getting one,so if we buy one it will come out of the household budget and not the car fund
of course what I really mean is are they any good for the car  :y

Any kind of water is not good for newish carpets, you want to rely on the natural wool oils or any additional pre-spill protection applied, as water/steam/scrub will wash those oils out.

Obviously there comes a time when they have to be washed.

IME, somewhat limited though, nothing at the consumer level matches what you can hire.

That's assuming you have posh woolen carpets.  ;)

Virtually all have some percentage of wool :)

If you have hard floors, I'd use a brush....

When I say I, obviously I'd recommend. The actual doing is a pink job.

Steamers are pretty good on tiles and the like :y

Not sure how useful they would be on a car, as they're quite low pressure :-\

I use...

http://www.granvilleoil.com/product_info.php?prod_id=90

Can't fault it :y I go over the leather after with Autoglyms leather cleaner and balm/cream afterwards, but use that Ambersil on every part of the interior except the glass :y
