We had a lot of this in Liverpool before doormen/women had to be registered, in the days when gangs fought to be in control of the doors so they could peddle their drugs to people on the way in.
The police are shit hot on it now and that lad would not be working any more. They are round the city centre every night checking badges and the signing in book and are not afraid to close the place down there and then.

I would say that the "doorman" is lucky not to be on a murder or manslaughter or at least gbh charge. Yes, the victim was a dick, but the bouncer should have the professionalism to rise above it and just deal with it sensibly.

a doorman should be looking after the door/building, the lad was out in the street and okay he was mouthing off but then the doorman  left his post and attacked him out on the street.

In two minds about this really. Bouncer did go OTT. He knew that the drunk guy would not be able to defend himself properly and would easily get, at some point, the opportunity to pick him up and slam him down.

However, that guy had the opportunity to walk away. He didn't. He got his arse handed to him.

I agree with previous comments though, that guy clearly had martial arts training.

I agree in protecting yourself as self defence but the Bouncer went well past that imo...
There are some knobs but usually on a door there are more than one.... in the video you see other doormen.  For me he deserves to get into trouble.
