it's either that or a SonyEriccson K850i to replace my SE K800i
I was in the same position in October and upgraded from a K800 to the K850, was a bit disappointed to be honest. I suppose it depends on what features you use...

The old 800 was great for grabbing a quick photo whereas the new one takes about 8-10 seconds to start the camera and take a pic which often leads to "missing the moment"

Other than that the touch screen buttons are a bit fiddly and the phones seem to have a habit of killing themselves, both my friend at work and I are on our 2nd handsets as they both malfunctioned in the same way! (constant restarting loop when trying to send a text)

That said, I have never got on with Symbian (if that is still used on nokias?) so it was the obvious upgrade form the 800.

HTH  :)

cheers

love my K800i and was hoping the 850 would be better still (had a K750i before!)  but then the N82 is attracting me with it's wi-fi  :-/conection?

Same here! Its a bit sad, but the K750 was the best SE I have had (until i ran it over) none of the new ones are as simple, robust or reliable as the old gems!

Good luck with whichever one you choose :y

Nokia seem to have lost their way with more modern phones as well, not just SE.  Seem to be a bit sluggish, and a bit unstable.

got a whole bloody draw full of them at work, got to admit i do prefer Nokia for ease of use, speed, and build.

Followed by Sony Ericsson, K800i is particually well built.

I did offer my phones but you did not want them! lol...

Actually on the subject, i have forsale if anyone is interested:

Nokia N80
Nokia N70
Nokia 6230

For the people that asked:

Nokia N80 - £70
Nokia N70  - £50
Nokia 6230 - £40

All of them are boxed like new, and unlocked to all networks.

James,

Had a look and I seem to have had a clear out!!! I've got a SE K750, which I believe is unlocked. Acouple of slightly tired looking Nokias, a 6230 and a 6610, and I'm sure I've got a 6280 kicking about somewhere but I can't find it!!!
