Door locks advice
« on: 04 November 2013, 19:46:36 »

Hi all,

My new mig has a stiff drivers door lock. The key in the door turns to a point, then you have to give it a bit more of an umpf to unlock it. The pin doesn't move up or down either?

Also need a volunteer to change the front passenger door solenoid too?  ::)

I had this on my last omega, at first a bit of WD40 solved it, but it soon became stiff to turn. The second time WD40 did nothing, a new replacement lock mech solved the issue. once the door card is off it's an easy job. Likewise with the solenoid on the pass side. oh and make sure to seal up the plastic moisture barrier after you've done the work.
I failed to remove the barrier in one piece, it ripped but I made sure to mastic/tape it back up after

Cheers for that mate! Only problem I have, is I am great at dismantling but always have bits left over after putting it back together......if I even get that far, lol.

In the meantime I'll look for a replacement lock :y
