Blanking little pipe off will likely reduce power, as ecu cannot measure boost, so goes failsafe.

Ah, thats the one I thought you meant - thats manifold pressure sensor (boost sensor)

The one on egr is vac to actuate egr

So blanking the egr one in effect will do nothing?

Performance wise? Apart from a slightly better pickup during a gentle cruise, it'll do nothing except reduce economy slightly.  Assuming the EGR works.

Quick update.  Still waiting on a made up egr but managed to get my hands on a boost gauge. The wee pipe off the bottom of the manifold was slightly gunked up so cleaned that out. Its boosting up to 1 bar on the button. Wonder what it will boost when I get this new egr on.  :y

I think we got Omegatoys to about 1.4 above when we were playing with that, but had too many cooling issues. I think we knocked back to 1.2?

Omegatoy?
yup ran it at 1.4/5bar and was very lively, inlet temps got a bit to high for motorway work though, but short blast its great, i finally settled on 1.2/3 as a good compromise but bear in mind before i booted it every time i flicked the switch for the intercooler fan,and also did this before big hills ,it did around 40k like this apart form fan burning out, never had a problem,

lol and yes was roaring at the garage episode purely because the boy was in bed at the time an didnt realise what was going on!
 ;D
now back in spain, just had a super tour on the quad up through river canyons and round lake! knackered now!

p.s and before the mrs used the car i always put the i.c. fan on and left it on just in case she got to lively with it which has been known to happen a great deal :-[ she aways came back and said why can i always hear the cooling fan even though the engine isnt running?
answer,oh its contrilled by a temp sensor dear till its been running a while it dont know the temp so it comes on automatically ::)
